A green or cloudy-looking conservatory roof can make a bright room feel neglected. The important question is not how much force will remove the dirt, but which approach suits the roof you actually have. A quote should make that clear.

Why is pressure washing a concern?

Ultraframe warns that power washing can dislodge conservatory panels and explicitly advises against using power washers. Its maintenance guidance also cautions against abrasive or solvent-based cleaners on the roof and frames. Those instructions are a reason to check the system before treating any roof like ordinary paving.

Pane and Simple assesses the material, condition and safe access before agreeing the work. A conservatory-roof estimate does not promise a pressure-washing method.

Does glass need different care from polycarbonate?

Tell the cleaner whether your roof is glass or polycarbonate, and whether you know of a specialist coating or self-cleaning glass. If you are unsure, describe it and check the installer’s documents rather than choosing a product by guesswork.

A self-cleaning label does not mean every mark or surrounding component needs no attention. Ask how any coating changes the proposed cleaning approach. The frames, seals and gutters also need their own scope; an exterior roof-panel clean is not an interior conservatory clean.

How often should a conservatory roof be cleaned?

Follow the care guidance for your own conservatory system and look at how quickly deposits return. For its products, Ultraframe recommends washing the roof and side frames every four months. This is manufacturer guidance, not a universal timetable or a Pane and Simple booking requirement.

If the roof sits below trees or beneath another gutter, describe the recurring debris. Regular inspection from ground level can help you distinguish a general dirty surface from one section that may have another problem.

What should the conservatory-cleaning quote include?

Specify exterior roof panels, framework and any gutter clearing you need. If you also want the side windows cleaned, include that in the enquiry. Otherwise, two quotes with the same “conservatory cleaning” label may cover very different areas.

Mention any existing leak, loose panel or damaged seal. A cleaner needs to know before starting, and a wash should not be presented as a repair. Internal condensation and a failed glazed unit are also separate from removable dirt on the outside.

How do you request a quote without climbing up?

Give an approximate length and width from the ground, the roof material if known, and a description of the condition. Mention access gates, nearby extensions and whether conservatory gutters or side windows should be included. There is no need to walk onto the roof or lean a ladder against it for a measurement.

Pane and Simple accepts conservatory-roof cleaning enquiries across Waterlooville, Havant, Petersfield and the surrounding service area. Contact us to discuss your roof and confirm the scope and price.

More questions

Can you clean polycarbonate roofs?

Polycarbonate is an option in the enquiry calculator. Material, condition and safe access will be confirmed before a suitable clean is agreed.

Will a clean fix a leaking conservatory?

No. Explain an existing leak before booking so the condition can be considered. A cleaning service is not a guarantee of a watertight repair.

Is the conservatory roof part of window cleaning?

It should be requested separately. Add side windows or gutter clearing to the enquiry if you want those areas included.
